Like many of us moms, while juggling the demands of a busy household, finding time to prioritize my health seems challenging.

However, I had to make that time for my health when I started having foot joint pain. This caused me to seek drastic measures to help improve my autoimmune condition. I embarked on the journey of following the Autoimmune Protocol (AIP) Diet to help manage them. That is where Thrive Market comes in.

This diet requires a lot of careful planning and access to specific, high-quality foods, which can be a challenge in and of itself. I sought out the foods I needed and the places that I could get them.

I had heard of Thrive Market before but had never used them before. I needed to find products that focused on healthier options.

Thrive also has healthy packaged food for convenience like when we are traveling or when you don’t have time to cook.

In this blog post, I’ll share my experience with Thrive Market. You will also notice this is a sponsored blog post. The reason I am promoting this product is after using their company, I contacted them to promote there company. I will share my honest thoughts with you.

Who is Thrive Market

You may have heard of Thrive Market, an online grocery store that sells products focused on healthier, organic, and specialty diets.

They provide products for diets such as gluten-free (which I have been for years now), AIP, paleo, and more, or for people searching for cleaner ingredients in their foods. Thrive makes it easier to find these products, and someone has done the work for you to ensure safer foods.

Since I began the AIP diet, it has been necessary for me to read tons of labels to make sure I wasn’t eating anything that wasn’t AIP-friendly.

After all, I was and am currently trying to improve my health.

If you want to know more about the AIP Diet read my last blog post My Journey with the AIP Diet.

Now Thrive Market isn’t the only place where I buy food. When I first went onto AIP I purchased several items from Amazon. However being on this diet since February of this year, I purchase items through Sprouts (not sponsored) and Thrive Market.

Is there a fee

You may be wondering if there is a fee. The answer is yes! They run their store much like Sam’s Club or Costco. At the time of writing this blog post. The membership fee is $12.00 a month or $59.95 yearly.

Why is there a membership at Thrive Market?

Thrive says membership allows us to offer the best quality at the best prices. Plus, for every paid membership, they donate a one-year membership to help someone who needs it.

Clean and Safe Foods

The reason why I considered buying my groceries from and paying a subscription, is that I needed to find products that were safe and clean. In this post, I will share some of my favorite AIP products.

This is what Thrive Market says on their website.

Trusted Ingredients

Certified organic is always our first choice, and we study every label to search for the best, wholesome ingredients that have been vetted for safety. What we leave out is just as important: Our products are 100% non-GMO and we restrict 1,000+ ingredients (like artificial flavors, antibiotics, synthetic nitrates and nitrites, and parabens) because of their effects on your family’s health and our planet.

I am happy that I can find products that are just food. I mean if it says cassava flour- it’s just flour.

If I get applesauce- it’s just organic apples.

Healthy Snacks You Can Feel Good About

I like that they do a lot of products using healthy fats such as coconut oil, or avocado oil. I can eat coconut palm sugar, and I can find products with that in it instead of bad vegetable oils.

If I am in the mood for something sweet but clean, I can find them too at Thrive Market. I know that having snacks is not a healthy replacement for a healthy balanced diet, but it is nice to have that option.

If you are traveling or if you are doing something like a birthday for example, like my granddaughter’s party that we went to last Saturday, I have choices for treats.

It gives me a good feeling to know I can find foods that don’t have all the chemicals that we don’t know about or what they do.

Subscription Perks That Make Life Easier

Just like Amazon or other companies, Thrive offers a discount if you sign that product up on subscriptions. Just to let you know, you do not have to put your products under a subscription. It just saves you more money on products that you buy normally anyway.

I have about 6 items under my subscription. Otherwise, I just purchase what I want or need at that time.

You also have the flexibility of changing the subscription dates or weeks of when you want to receive these products.

These are the 6 items that I like to get in the subscription. I like the tuna because it’s just tuna nothing added.

It’s hard to find tuna that doesn’t have other ingredients that my body doesn’t need.

This is why I purchased this product from Thrive Market.

As you see there are options on when I want to get these products.

Also, if I need to push out or change the dates of getting these products, I can do that too.

I like that. I don’t like the surprise of having my bank account hit and being surprised when I get my purchases because I forgot about them.

More Than Just Food: Clean Personal Care and Household Products

Let’s look at some of the other products that Thrive Market offers. I like that they offer other products besides food as well. If you are anything like me, you are not just concerned with the foods you and your family eat, but also other products that we might be using, that aren’t great for us.

I am concerned about products that we use such as toothpaste, deodorant, skincare, and cleaning products.

Thrive has those products as well as, vitamins and pet care.

I appreciate being able to shop for products that are free from harmful chemicals and feel good knowing that I am not exposing myself or my family to harsh ingredients. As a mom, that is a really big concern for me.

Is Thrive Market for You

Well, let’s look at the pros and cons for a moment.

I have read different reviews on Thrive Market and you have to decide for yourself.

CON’S

One of the cons of joining Thrive Market is there is a subscription to be able to make purchases from their store.

You also have to join to be able to see what items they carry. I didn’t like that for myself, (just being honest).

Some of their products may cost more than other stores.

Pro’s

You can get safe and clean products that are safe for you and your family.

You can find products that you can’t find in your local stores around your home.

You can find products that will support many diets: Paleo, Keto, Vegetarian, Vegan, Gluten-Free, Organic, Ketogenic, Low FODMAP, Raw, Whole 30 Compatible, and Mediterranean Diet.

Ingredients and Health:

Non-GMO, Low Sodium, Soy Free, Plant-Based, Preservative Free, No Antibiotics/Synthetic Hormones, Dairy Free, Sugar-Free, Dye and Color Additive Free, Peanut Free, Pesticide Free, Yeast Free Paraben Free Products, Phthalate Free, Big 9 Allergen Free, Petroleum Free, Tree Nut Free, etc.

Thrive Market can be cheaper on some specialty products

Few Go To Foods on AIP Diet

When you follow the AIP Diet, you must avoid grains and nuts. Cassava and tiger nut flour were my choices for tortillas, pancakes, etc., and arrowroot to thicken foods. I should note that you can’t have traditional baking powder because it has corn in it, and if you are in the elimination diet phase, it’s not AIP-friendly.

However, Otto’s has a baking powder made without corn. That is the brand I use. As I still haven’t reintroduced corn.

Sadly, I haven’t been able to find that product at Thrive. However, I was able to find it at Amazon.

Thrive Market has been a valuable resource in my AIP and Paleo journey, offering a variety of clean and safer options that can be hard to find at local stores. It’s not the only place I shop for my specialized diet, but it has definitely made things easier by providing convenient access to many AIP-friendly and Paleo products.

While I believe most of their products are safer than what you’d find at many other stores, it’s still important to read labels to ensure they align with your specific dietary needs.

Overall, Thrive Market has been a great help in supporting my health goals, and I appreciate having it as part of my routine.
