How to Give a Lego Birthday on a Budget

Sharing is Caring

I have two birthday kids in February, so I have to be creative with parties.

Not only for planning them but also for ways not to break the bank.

My daughter just turned 14 and she just loves the show Little House on the Prarie.

So, in my last post, I wrote about how we did a Little House-themed party for her.  She just loved it.

We were able to save money by shopping around our house for decorations and baking the cake at home.

Our 12-year-old son is at that age where he just loves to play with Legos.

So this post is going to be about How to give a Lego birthday party on a budget, and how we did it.

As parents, we can create a fun and memorable birthday party for our children without breaking the bank.

Legos provide an excellent theme for a party. However, as we all know, anything Lego can be expensive.

However, with a little bit of creativity, it can be done on a budget.

There are a lot of fun ways to have a Lego-themed party that doesn’t have to be a lot of money.

Here are some different ideas to get you started.

Food Ideas

Make a Lego birthday cake that looks like a brick or

bake a cake and put candy lego’s around it.

Have a Lego pizza party – make your own pizzas shaped like Lego blocks.

Building Candy Blocks- These would make a fun treat and decorations.  You could also put them on your cupcakes or birthday cake.

Jello Cups- You could decorate them with stickers or you could put the jello in colorful cups.

Lemonade, Punch, or Orange Juice for color. If you have lego stickers you could put them on the drink container.

Invitations and Decorations

Make Lego invitations – either print out a free template from the Internet or buy pre-made ones.

As you can see there are many many things that you can do to have a fun lego themed party.

You can make it very simple and budget-friendly or you could go all out.

I chose to be budget friendly with my son’s party.

I started off by going over to Amazon and checking out their lego birthday party packages.  I tried to find the exact one I bought but couldn’t find it.

So this link is close to it.

This mom like many of you I’m sure is busy busy busy.  I knew what theme I was going with and so I just searched for it and made my purchase.

The set I chose came with napkins, plates, a tablecloth, banner, balloons, ribbon, and a cake topper.

The cups were a bit small but overall it worked out really great.  He loved it so that is all that matters.

I wanted the lego tablecloth to be used for the cake. However, the other tables just had solid colors on them.

My son did the lego cake brick.  Plus I am gluten-free so he is always nice enough to back mom a separate cake.

However, mine wasn’t a cute lego brick.  Oh well… Just kidding.

The balloons I thought were super cute.  They had legos on them. As you can see in the picture.  That made the room look festive.

Far as food, I went back to my last birthday menu. Pizza and chips.  You can’t beat it.  It’s quick and easy.

However, if you wanted to make it look more festival and lego-like.  See the food section of this post.

A Lego birthday on a budget can still be a lot of fun! With some creativity and planning, you can throw an awesome celebration without breaking the bank.

Have fun with it and don’t forget to capture all the memories in photographs!
