The Dangers of Halloween and it’s Dark History

Sharing is Caring

It’s that time of year. Leaves are changing and the weather is taking on a more fall like feeling in the air.

With fall comes pumpkins, lots of yellow and red leaves, fall festivals, and yes Halloween.

In todays blogpost we are going to look at the dangers of Halloween and its dark side.

Halloween is a holiday that is steeped in history and tradition. As the story goes, it originated with the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, which celebrated the end of summer and the coming of winter.

During this time, people would light bonfires, wear costumes to ward off ghosts and other spirits, and take part in parades and other festivities.

However, for many Christians, Halloween has come to mean something quite different. Many believe that it is not a celebration of traditions or beliefs from the past, but rather a celebration of evil and darkness for then and now.

They feel that Christians should not support Halloween in any way, as it contradicts their own beliefs about God’s goodness and love.

There is some debate about the true meaning of Halloween among Christians today.

Some argue that it may have a dark history but if you aren’t practicing its occult activities than it’s ok to celebrate it.

Others feel that we should let go of this holiday entirely, choosing instead to focus on celebrating God’s light and goodness all year long.

Ultimately, whether you choose to support Halloween comes down to your own personal beliefs about faith and spirituality.

For those who believe that Christians should not participate in this holiday at all, there are many ways to celebrate fall.

It can be done in ways that reflect your values without participating directly in Halloween traditions themselves.

Whatever you decide to do this Halloween season, may you find peace and joy in the Lord above all else!

What is the dark meaning behind Halloween?

Halloween is a holiday with ancient roots in paganism. It was originally a time when people would light bonfires and dress up in costumes to ward off evil spirits.

Over time, this practice evolved into people dressing up as witches. Today, many people still dress up as witches on Halloween, and they are often depicted as being evil and dangerous. There was a lot of evil, darkness and fear associated behind the celebrating the feast of Samhain.

Why did the people believe spirits would get them?

The ancient Celts believed that ghosts and other spirits roamed the earth during Samhain. Also, they believed that they could cause harm to people if they were not properly ward off. Therefore, they would wear costumes and take part in festivities – to protect themselves from these harmful spirits.

Who Were the Druids?

The Druids were a class of people in ancient Celtic societies who served as priests, teachers, and healers. They were also believed to have supernatural powers, which they used to protect their people from harm.

This group of people controlled the people in that day with fear. Many of the traditions and beliefs associated with Halloween can be traced back to the Druids.

During the time of the Druids, they believed in many things that were occultic. The Druids believed in an afterlife, and that the spirits of the dead could come back to haunt the living. This belief likely contributed to the development of Halloween as a holiday associated with ghosts and other supernatural beings.

In what country did Halloween get its origin?

Halloween began with the Celtic festival of Samhain, which was traditionally celebrated in Ireland.

How did it come to America?

Halloween came to America with the immigrants who brought their traditions and beliefs with them when they came to this country.

Over time, Halloween has become a popular holiday in the United States, with many people participating in activities like trick-or-treating and decorating their homes with Halloween-themed decorations.

The Danger of celebrating Halloween

Since Halloween may have started out as a Pagan holiday, it has since taken on a life of its own.

For many Christians, Halloween is a holiday that celebrates all that is evil and dark in the world. They believe that by taking part in Halloween festivities, they are supporting a holiday that is diametrically opposed to their own beliefs.

Christians believe in a loving and good God, while Halloween celebrates evil spirits and darkness.

As a result, many Christians choose to not participate in Halloween activities, to avoid supporting something that goes against their core beliefs.

How are witches involved in Halloween?

Witches have been associated with Halloween since the holiday’s early days.

This is likely because Halloween is a time when the boundary between the world of the living and the world of the dead is said to be at its thinnest.

Witches were believed to have special powers that allowed them to communicate with spirits and even control them.

What former witch has to say about Christians celebrating Halloween?

One former witch, who is now a Christian, has spoken out against Christians participating in Halloween celebrations.

She argues that doing so goes against everything that Christianity stands for. She also believes that it can be dangerous for people to take part in activities that are linked to the occult, such as dressing up in costumes or going trick-or-treating.

There are some safety concerns that come with kids going door to door on Halloween night.

There have been reports of people handing out candy that has been tampered with.

Another danger is people are making candy with drugs in it.

It can be difficult for parents to know what their kids are eating if they eat candy that they’ve collected while trick-or-treating.

Be careful about the candy your children eat, whether you are doing Halloween or attending fall festivals.

The Biblical response to Halloween.

There are several reasons why some Christians oppose Halloween. Some believe that the holiday is rooted in paganism and occultism and that it celebrates death and evil.

Others believe that participating in Halloween activities can be dangerous, as they may involve contact with demonic spirits.

However, there are also Christians who argue that there is nothing wrong with celebrating Halloween so long as it is done in a way that does not involve compromising one’s beliefs or values.

Maybe  Christian  believe they can use the opportunity to teach their children about the importance of staying away from things that promote evil and darkness.

Yet, the best way to teach them to stay away is just to not partake in it.

Far as just getting out and having fun with candy and dress up, well that can be done anytime of the year.

We had our fall festival last week because I really don’t like to have it near Halloween.

The Bible says

1 Peter 2:9

King James Version

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;

If you know Jesus as our Lord and Savior then we have been called out of the darkness.

KJV

Deuteronomy 18:9-14

When thou art come into the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.

10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch.

11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.

12 For all that do these things are an abomination unto the Lord: and because of these abominations the Lord thy God doth drive them out from before thee.

13 Thou shalt be perfect with the Lord thy God.

14 For these nations, which thou shalt possess, hearkened unto observers of times, and unto diviners: but as for thee, the Lord thy God hath not suffered thee so to do.

The scriptures let us know that God is calling us to not partake of the things the world does. Halloween has its origins in the occult and God is calling us to not be a part of these things.

Ultimately, it is up to each individual Christian to decide what they believe is best for them when it comes to Halloween.

Should we really support a day that can be dangerous and is about death?

The Bible says in John 10:10

10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

God is about bringing us life through his son Jesus Christ and this day is all about the opposite of God’s word.
